It’s Sinulog’s eve; the baseline ballroom is a sauna bath of sweat, grime and the beer-scented breath of an estimated body count of about 1,200 cramped inside. it is sometime between ten or eleven in the evening. and a long queue of antsy black teed concert pilgrims are still waiting outside. manila-based Typecast is selling up.

We imagine the ballroom’s become a sort of gas chamber type of place, but the acoustics are good and it’s one of the few venues the production guys could afford. they do what they can do though, usually on the bill are frequenters like urbandub, faspitch and the ambassadors - artist who are also under the lighter records label and / or management.
