Selling a home during winter time may be the worst time of the year to sell property. The lawn is brown, the weather is usually bad and you have less time to show off the place during daytime. And waiting for spring takes a long time. There still are ways to sell a house in winter though. First, always keep the walkway and driveway clear of snow so that the home looks well-maintained. If you live far from the house you are selling, have someone or a service to shovel the place for you. Turn the thermostat down to a warmer temperature to make the place feel welcoming. And if you have a gas fireplace, turn it on to add ambiance. Also, show the property when daylight is highest and clean all the light fixtures.
The windows are one of the important things to maintain because the strong southern light might reveal grime on the windows. Having outdoor and indoor lights on would give prospective buyers who drive past the impression that the house is welcoming and comfortable. If you do not live in the place, use timers for turning the lights on and off. Another way to give the home a comfortable air is playing soft music in the background when you are showing it to prospect buyers. Tune the radio to the local classical station and turn the volume down to that they will hear it quietly in the background. You can also use Filipino music, which offers a wide array of sounds and genres — some of which can soothe and uplift your spirit. After all, that is one of the reasons why we create music.
